It’s only two days away from Christmas, which also happens to be my birthday! Yes, I am a Christmas baby and Christmas was great until people around me realize that they should give me one birthday-cum-Christmas present instead of two separate gifts. One good thing that is still prevalent through these years is that it is so easy to remember my birthday; Kris is born on Christmas day! How hard is that? If you don’t remember my birthday, SHAME ON YOU!!! Go repent and get me a big gift! (Or make it two…
)

SUBTLE HINT: iwantanipodtouch16GBthankyouverymuch
As much as I would like to believe that I am 18 years of age, I am actually turning 27 on Christmas and that thought is quite scary! I am actually inching towards the big 30 soon! And I can actually feel the age catching up on me; friends of the same age/batch getting married, more wrinkles, deteriorating stamina and most of all, the increasing hunger for a superpower to turn back time. That and X-ray vision. Heheheheheheheeee.
Despite the fallbacks that come of age, I think I am still happy with the past year. I made a lot of friends through the revival of blogging in February and through channels and platforms like wholivesnearyou.com, ping.sg, twitter, yebber, facebook & plurk. Being so active in the social media scene also gave me opportunities to attend various events that added colors to an otherwise mundane life. Most of all, thanks to Ruifang aka KuKuNehNeh aka KKNN aka the gf, for contributing the most joy for the past year.
Merry KRISmas and a Happy New Year everyone!

The Nuttz held their yearly Christmas gift exchange at Fish Market & Bistro, Greenwood Avenue, this year. Instead of painting each other to look like weird animals, they decided to hold a hat-themed party this year. Last year, KKNN made me look like a diseased person instead of a giraffe and this year, she bought me a cabaret hat that couldn’t fit.
MY HEAD IS VERY BIG LAR HELLO!!!
And so, I had to wear a Santa hat.

I roughly look like that, sans the beard

Beautifully coloured wall for gorgeous shots!

We couldn't get enough of these fresh oysters and ordered more!

The Nuttz!
The interior of Greenwood Fish Market & Bistro is quite beautifully designed with the right amount of light for a nice dinner ambiance. The staff were all very friendly, especially the one who was serving our table. One quirk about the restaurant is that not everything is available on the menu. You may find it outrageous to have that happen but the reason is that Greenwood Fish Market & Bistro believes in serving food of quality and if the particular catch is not up to their standards on that day, they will not sell it. It’s a pity that we did not manage to eat stuffs like foie gras but true to their word, every dish that they serve out of the kitchen were very fresh and most of them were quite delicious.
If you ever stop by the restaurant, do try the following; salmon, oysters, softshell crab, fish & chips (battered or breaded).
After the sumptuous dinner, we went down Greenwood avenue to Pepperoni Pizzeria (Another place with great food!) for drinks and gift exchange and some alcohol guzzling. Not a bad way to start off the festive season!

6 girls who called themselves ‘The Nuttz’ and 3 guys, which make us the ’6 Nuttz and 6 Testicles’!

Jerry’s Chunk Fest looked promising and that is why a bunch of us decided to go down and hopefully have a time of our lives by celebrating “Peace, Love & Ice Cream”. The weather didn’t help at all and it rain for at least an hour or more right before Fort Canning Green open it’s doors for the festival. There was mud everywhere with the hot sun ensuring that the mud on my white shoes were baked to perfection.

Hendri, Vincent & Yuhui looking at a part on Daphne

Hendri pretends to call someone after looking and the other two openly laughs about it.
We decided to go queue for some Ben & Jerry’s ice cream while waiting for the Vernmonster eaiting contest to start and it was a very bad decision. A never ending queue which we gave up after moving hardly 5 metres in the space of 15 minutes. Only Yuhui had the resolve to continue waiting and he ended up queuing for more than an hour to get some ice cream.
The Vernmonster eating contest was badly held as well. Only a handful of teams were chosen to take part and they had the teams eat the ice cream on the ground level instead of the readily available stage. I could only see a sea of humans surrounding the teams and didn’t even get to see how the Vernmonster combo looked like.

The only saving grace of Ben & Jerry’s Chunk Fest for me? The funny MC, the cool foam machine and the great company.
