Plurk Gathering v2 – Ice Cold Beer at SMU

plurk 470x223

For the uninitiated, Plurk is a social medial tool and used for micro-blogging whereby one sends updates in 140 characters or less to the service. Plurk is very active in the local scene and most of the social media lovers are using Plurk very frequently to take part in various discussions, ranging from how great the Obama win was, to how lovely it is to take a dump in the toilet. Whatever the topics might be, Plurk is a great way to share and communicate.

We now have a Plurk: Singapore Facebook Group and had two ‘official’ gatherings so far with the last one at SMU’s Ice Cold Beer. A total of 17,352,451,726 30+ people turned up! We had loads of fun playing bar games with each other and laughing at a couple of people that totally sucked in certain games. It may sound evil that we laugh at them so openly but they are all alive so far and are looking forward to the next gathering that I was volunteered to organize. =P

Group shot at Plurk Gathering v2 – Thanks to Willy and David of Live! Studios for most of the photos that night!

I enjoyed myself thoroughly at the outing and it’s always great to put faces to the names/nicknames that I talk to so frequently online.

Join me on Plurk!

The Secret Mission… Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

On workday mornings, either KuKuNehNeh (KKNN) or myself will send a morning greeting to the other via email. Since she cannot use tools such as WLM to communicate, the emails are our way of keeping in touch with each other during work hours and gossip about the latest happenings in the world, Singapore, the blogosphere and you.

YA…. YOU!

On the 2nd of October, she sent me an email like any other workday except that the content made me as guilty as a kid who broke his mum’s favourite dinning glasses.

I COMPLETELY FORGOT that it was our 14th monthsary! And I had already promised to attend the Samsung event that day at Vivocity and we decided to not celebrate it. KKNN went to hang out with her friends after work at Deborah’s place and I headed down to the event as promised.

I am not much of a romantic and I decided to do something spontaneous to hopefully make up for my forgetfulness. After the event, I decided to travel to her place at Ang Mo Kio (AMK) to surprise her and spend some time together. KKNN is not much of a flowers person and so I bought beer and 3 of the fried chicken wings that she digs at the coffee shop nearby. In order to ascertain if she was already home, I text her along the way to AMK but she failed to reply me. As it was already 10+ in the night, I assumed that she had pigged out in her own bed and so I went ahead to buy the stuffs at the coffeeshop.

While waiting for the chicken wings, I got a call from her.

“Hello?” KKNN said groggily.

“Hi Dear! Where are you?”

“I just woke up. Still at Deborah’s place. I fell asleep while they were playing poker.”

“Ah? It’s late already and you got work tomorrow. Why don’t you go home to rest early?”

“I still waiting for Huiwen leh~”

“Huh~~~ Go home earlier lar!”

“Never mind lar. I will wait.”

“Okay lor. Text me when you reach home hor?”

“Okay!”

Failing to convince her to go home and not wanting to spoil the surprise or pressure KKNN to go back early because I am heading for her place, I decided to wait it out at her void deck. It was about 10.45pm when I reached the void deck and little that I know that she would only come back at around 11.40pm. So I spent 1 hr sitting at the bench, accompanied by a foreign worker who was sleeping soundly two benches away with the cold beer turning warm and the piping hot fried chicken wings turning into soggy remains of a cooked chicken’s body part.

I was plurking away on the incident to keep myself entertained and finally got a text from her that she was heading home. The sounds of a taxi greeted me as I hid behind a wall and I appeared in the open once I heard footsteps approaching the lift landing.

Well, the lady whom alighted from the cab and saw me grinning from ear to ear at the lift landing near the stroke of midnight that day wasn’t KKNN. WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA!!! It was just a stranger who was probably prepared to kick me in the nuts if I followed her into the lift. The moment of awkwardness was simultaneously greeted with the sounds of 2nd taxi stopping at the corner and a bewildered KKNN coming out of the cab and seeing her bf who was supposed to be at home but was waiting for her at the lift landing.

“DEAR! WHY ARE YOU HERE?”

A smile formed on my lips and I said,

“Happy 14th monthsary my Dear~”

Life is Nothing Without Touch…

Touch, is one of the 5 senses that every person has learnt about in our life time. When you want intimacy, you touch. When you want to move around in the dark, we touch. When we want to know if an object is hot or cold, you touch. When you want to feel the suppleness of my ka-cheng (backside), YOU TOUCH!

Actually, don’t any-o-how touch my ka-cheng please.

Anyway, the point is not about my ka-cheng in this post. But it is about TOUCH. Not EXACTLY about one of the 5 senses, but I am talking about the…

HP IQ500 TouchSmart!

touchsmart

.

After attending the awesome HP event the other day organised by the good people at Waggener Edstrom, they said they had a surprise for us this week. AND HERE IT IS!

Me and MY READERS(YOU! YES! YOU!!!) will stand a change to win this amazing PC.

How to Win?

Simply answer the following question in the most creative/ innovative/ productive/ interesting way you can!

Qn: “What will your life be like with HP TouchSmart?”

E.g. In the morning I will use the TouchSmart to check on the weather instead of touching Kris’ ka-cheng. When I come back home, the kids will all be using the TouchSmart instead of kicking Kris’ ka-cheng. At night before I sleep, there is nothing better to see than the beautiful TouchSmart instead of Kris’ ka-cheng.

Get the idea? Just try not to use ka-cheng so much…

WAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!

The competition is going to be tough! Only ONE blogger who attended the event & his/her ONE reader will walk away with the TouchSmart PC! The prize is going to be awarded based on the BEST COMMENT! And if there are duplicate ideas, the comment that is made the earliest will be awarded the prize!

This is the press release for the HP TouchSmart IQ500 PC.

Look through it, have an idea and answer the question! Be fast! Contest closes on the 12th July!

The Problem I Have As a Blogger is…

I once said that carelessness is one of the biggest drawbacks of me as a person as I am one who can sometimes be so deep in thought that without realizing it, I have already crossed the road. Countless number of times when this happens and I will suddenly be aware of my body and go,

“Eh?!?!?! I DON’T REMEMBER CROSSING THE ROAD!!!”

It’s sometimes pretty scary to think that I am on ‘auto-mode’ when doing things like crossing the road but it’s a good skill to have provided that it is fail safe. I don’t want to be roadkill.

One of the biggest problems I have as a blogger would be my memory. I have such bad memory. Some who know me personally might say otherwise but I think I have ‘selective memory’. My brain registers infomation ‘permanently’ on certain subjects and the rest goes into my ‘RAM’ which gets cleared every 3 seconds or so. For example, if it’s the first time I meet you and you tell me your name, I will forget almost instantanously. I will only remember the conversation and especially if you tell me interesting things like how you like to dig your nose… with your thumb.

I am not implying that anybody I’ve met at the HP TouchSmart PC Event that I went to yesterday likes to dig their nose with their thumb. But if it JUST SO HAPPENS that I met you yesterday and you REALLY like to use your thumb. Well… erm… do reconsider your other options.

While I am on that anyway, I will like to extend my gratitude to Waggener Edstrom for organizing and Daryl a.k.a UniqueFrequency for inviting me to the event.

The TouchSmart PC looks great and I shall have another entry of it when I find more time. It’s great to also meet up with more bloggers at the event like…

er….

…like…

YOU SEE LAR!

I DON’T REMEMBER THE NAMES OF EVERYONE I MET!!!

.

I do remember the conversations that I had with each of you guys though. I think I got to either improve my memory or make it a habit to jot down everything I want to remember. If I jotted down stuffs yesterday, some of the things I would have written down were…

  1. I took a picture with Jacelyn a.k.a daintyflair and apparently, I look humsup (lecherous). I never looked at the picture properly but maybe I was drooling or something.
  2. Claudia has a humsup twit for the HP TouchSmart PC.
  3. Juzzywuzzy has his humsup goatee back.
  4. Hillary couldn’t recognize who I was and probably thought I was a humsup trying to pick her up.
  5. I helped Daphne take a picture with two other ladies and the camera auto-focused on her left boob. The camera was humsup. If the picture turned out shaky, I am sorry. I was trying to contain my laughter.

WAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAHAAHA!!!
