When I first came across the S’pore Blog Awards 2008 by omy.sg, I was very interested in joining. Being such a n00b in the blogosphere, I wanted to see if people like to read the rubbish I spew on this digital space of mine. And it wouldn’t hurt if I would miraculously win it to get the top prize of a laptop!
A LAPTOP! Imagine what I can do with a LAPTOP! I COULD SAVE THE WORLD!
Well, not really lar….. But, It will be nice to be able to surf pR0n on the go.
I was all ready to enter my details in the competition when I thought I should checkout omy.sg to see what kind of traffic the website gets.
This is what I found…

I have nothing against people who like Chinese websites but I thought that my blog is much catered to English reading people. My Chinese is REALLY BAD and the ONLY post where I attempted to type in Chinese was this.
When I was in secondary school, I hated my mother tongue (Chinese) so much that I would purposely infuriate my Chinese teachers till the point that they gave up on me. During spelling lessons, I would just nap or doodle stuffs in the answer booklet. During exams, I would fill in my name, tikam the MCQ and leave the rest blank.
I got an F9 during a mock exam and it was a surprise when my teacher announced my results…
Teacher: “You got an E8.”
Me: “E8????”
“Yes. Do you wish to retake the paper?”
“NO!”
“Why? YOU GOT AN E8!!!”
“ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I won’t be that lucky the next time leh!”
.
I probably got lucky at tikam-ing the MCQ on that paper.
.
After much thought on it, I decided to just try my luck at the Blog awards under the “Most Entertaining Blog” category. I wanted very much to submit the “Kristy in #Cybersex” posts as it is quite popular, but I decided to submit more ‘toned down’ ones.
#1. I Was Once Molested Before⦠(People like to read leh… you pervs!
)
#2. Singaporeans Love MRT Seats (It is a topic close to Singaporean hearts)
#3. Some Questions Are Better Asked In English (To cater to the chinese reading community)
.
Lets see if I even make it by the 1st round!
