Singapore VS Liverpool – This is Anfield?
Thanks to the KuKuNehNeh(KKNN) and her colleague, we managed to secure two tickets to catch Singapore National Team VS Liverpool on their pre-season Asian tour. It was held at the Kallang National Stadium which by the way was said to be up for demolition 735176361 events ago.
We drove down to Kallang a good 2 hours before the match, hoping to beat the crowd and take our time to have our dinner but to our amazement, the area around the stadium was already filled with people dressed in Liverpool garb. As we sat in the stadium and watch the crowd flow in and take the seats around the stadium, I begun to wonder if any one soul was actually here to support their own country, Singapore.

The Liverpool fans that turned up that day was nothing short of amazing. I haven’t been to Anfield ever but if I do not ever go there, this would probably be the closest experience I would ever have. The ‘Kop end’ was magnificent as there were chanting and singing everything Liverpool from the start till the end.
Although I did felt that the atmosphere is not as electrifying as a national game against a team like Malaysia or Thailand. I could sense the a slight struggle between the support for a club they love with loyalty to Singapore.
Case in point...
By the way, KKNN is a Manchester United fan and she willingly accompanied me and dressed up in my Liverpool jersey to fit into the crowd. But apparently, such common sense doesn’t seem to apply to everyone.
THIS IS ANFIELD MOTHERF**KER!
Yup, your eyes are not deceiving you nor is this an edited picture. A bloody idiot dressed in Manchester United’s jersey with the name “Owen” printed on his back strolled down the steps of Kallang for a LIVERPOOL VS Singapore match with jeers and boos from the LIVERPOOL fans and sat himself down amongst LIVERPOOL fans and then proceeded to stand up and wave around while taunting the rowdy army of LIVERPOOL fans.
Yep! He sat there throughout the game unharmed. Only in Singapore I say! Try doing that in England and see what happens to an idiot like that.
Of course idiots come in pairs and we had one guy sitting in front of KKNN who bestowed this ‘fabulous’ view for us throughout the match.
You might say that he was sitting down and was pretty much harmless unless she had a thing for male butt cleavages but right before any exciting goal mouth situation, he would prematurely stand up waving his arms frantically and thus making KKNN miss the action and nothing to watch but his ass.
And her reasoning for not standing up when it happens? She didn’t want to block the view of the people sitting behind her. WAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH!!! Poor KKNN…
Not a pretty match to look at but the Liverpool fans that turned up made my day!

Yo , I was there too.. I am at the East stand though.. Great night but too quiet in my opinion during match on..and keep having ppl behind asking ppl to sit down..duhz..We are Liverpool , We are passionate, I prepared myself to sing till my throat went hoarse but dat was not meant to be cos is too quiet, disappointing but then.. at least the YNWA is great !
