Acceptance of Homosexuality
There was a discussion between me and KuKuNehNeh before dinner the other day about homosexuality and in particular, about lesbians.

She has quite a number of lesbian/bisexual female friends and she does hear quite a lot of unhappiness and thus gather a lot of skepticism on same-sex relationships. She doesn’t treat them any lesser as friends but given the chance, she would turn them all straight.
I, on the other hand, prefer them to stay true to who they are.
“As long as they are happy, why not be gay?” I asked.
“But they are not happy! And imagine them growing old. No children. So lonely!”
“Life is not all about being rich, having the best job, getting married or having children. These are just social norms that most of us follow blindly to attain ‘success’. And besides, there are so many abandoned children in this world, we could do better with more gay couples adopting children.”
“But they do think about going straight sometimes…”
“So do they think that way because they really want to or is it because society wants them to?” I asked.
Society may herd you to follow the social norms and if you decide to follow it, don’t regret it. We are what we are. Do things that we believe in (without intentional hurting of one another) and the world will soon accept us for who we are.
